Welcome to my blog! I’m documenting all things mama, baby, toddler, travel and life in general!
Hi, I’m Kate! I’m a single mama to Joey Ames and absolutely love the life we have created together. I love to make life easier for myself (so important as a single mama, mama and anyone in general!) and everyone around me and know this blog can be a place to do so!
I have a degree in Child Development and Psychology and spend some of my free time reading studies and articles about all aspects of raising babies and toddlers (feeding, education, sleep, activities, how they feel love, attachment, independence, etc.). I was a nanny for years before I moved to Belgium for a year to be an Au Pair to a 5 year old girl and twin 18-month olds, boy and girl. And now…I have my own baby girl, Joey. So you can say I’ve had some “practice” and experience in the baby & toddler department.
Some fun facts about me: I love to travel and I have been to 14 countries (Joey has been to seven already!). I mix up analogies and sayings like it’s my job. I love to find, research and try new and old baby and mama products that make life easier. I’m an organic mama for the most part and think what we feed our babies and children is SO important and linked with good sleeping habits and many other things (some may say I’m a fun sucker, but Joey doesn’t eat much sugar or many treats…except the occasional donut, because DONUTS and I’m pretty sure the grandparents are sneaking treats when I’m not looking). I’m a big fan of coffee shops, breweries and happy hours (& donuts…). But most of all, I absolutely love being Joey’s mama. We are navigating life through co-parenting with Joey’s dad and doing our best to raise a loved, smart, and caring girl!
I hope this blog inspires you to explore new places, be a present mama (or dada), and know that your baby is a heck of a lot more than “eat, sleep and poop.” Feel free to leave a comment or follow me on social media!
