My Advice on "Mama Advice"
Isn’t it crazy how much advice people have to give? Everyone wants to give their advice on every topic and every parenting style, choice, thing you do or say - but that’s the thing, its their advice. It is what worked for THEM.
So my advice on “mama advice” is: DO WHAT WORKS FOR YOU.
Sure, take all this advice. Listen when you want and drown them out when you want - the advice won’t stop, but it doesn’t mean you have to act on every piece of advice you get. Take it, combine it, and figure out what will work for you, your baby, your family and your life.
Every baby is different. Every toddler is different. Every child is different. And with that comes different bottles, diapers, family dynamic, sleep sacks vs. swaddles, likes and dislikes, sleep habits, parenting styles, registries, must-haves, thoughts on technology, and do’s & don’ts - the list goes on and on. But, YOU DO YOU.
To all you preggers out there: you have the right to tell people to stop talking whenever you want (I had no filter while pregnant and had no problem telling people to stop with the advice). To all you mamas (and dadas), find what works for you and stick with it. And to all you advice givers, please know that you can give all the advice you want, but doesn’t mean we want to hear it.
Disclaimer!! This blog is a place for me to document what works for Joey and I - take it or leave it. It works for us, it might work for you and it might not. No hard feelings because remember, DO WHAT WORKS FOR YOU!
